We celebrate the opening of The Hope Shop

Saturday 6th July 2019 was a day to remember for the Youth in Transition community. It was the day The Hope Shop came to life, with its very special opening event in Manly village. The project was the vision of a small group of passionate Youth in Transition supporters, with the specific goal of raising money for the charity. We are incredibly thankful for their hard work, as well as the support of local businesses and the local community, who turned out in force on 6th to help us celebrate – and be the first to get the bargains! A fantastic $1700 was raised in the opening weekend!

We are thrilled to announce that the money raised to date has enabled Youth in Transition to bring a new counsellor onboard. Plus offer five new young people places on its Journey Back to Awesome programme, which includes counselling, and mentoring, with the ongoing positive support helping them build hope for the future. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has made this possible. This is why we exist.

The Hope Shop is run by volunteers, who are rostered to sort clothes and serve in the shop during our opening hours:

Tues 12.30 – 2.30
Sat 9.30 – 4.30

We’re always on the lookout for more help, so if you would like to be included on the roster, please contact Caitlin Watson on 021 236 0936. Many hands make light work! We are taking clothing donations during these times too.

A special thank you to Suzie Simpson of Mojo Makeovers for showing us how to put some great outfits together from her finds in the shop on the opening day. Plus Sara Mason Photographer and Lovisa Chloe Photography for their fabulous launch photos.

There was so much excitement and enthusiasm in the air for the opening of The Hope Shop” says volunteer Caitlin Watson. “We were absolutely thrilled by the success of the opening weekend. It has been a great team effort and we are so grateful for the support and generosity shown by the community that has made it all possible.”

Kim Manunui

Hi, I’m Kim and I work with a great team to help individuals, as well as small and not so small businesses get their message, product and services to the world using digital media and creating wonderful websites that don’t cost the earth.

I was born in Canada, and grew up around Vancouver and the mountains of British Columbia. My love of pristine environments led me to New Zealand and eventually to the mountains, lakes and rivers of the central North Island which is home. My family’s heritage is here, and it’s from here that Korio traverses the planet.

The digital world is never static and neither are we.

And I say ‘we’ because I work with an awesome group of talented people who I gather together as required to complete a project.  Whatever your business, not-for-profit or individual needs are we gather the best team to get the job done.

Collaboratively we are creative, share sustainable values and work hard for great outcomes because that’s the buzz of satisfaction that drives us.

If you have an audience and market to reach, we can make that happen. Creative design, words that work and smart behind the scenes stuff that cuts through the online noise. We’ll design your website and then build it. We’ll manage the content as well as all your hosting needs. We can handle your online advertising so you get noticed,
and we’ll manage your social media presence so you get the clicks, likes and engagement to grow your business. All within the budget you set, because none of this needs to cost the earth.  And the job doesn’t stop when your website goes live. We are your virtual business partner.
