A Retreat for our Young People
The new facility will include the space for outdoor activities, fitness programmes, bush walks, gardening therapy, growing fruit and vegetables, cooking classes, healthy eating, barbeques, Yoga, meditation classes and much more. We will now be able to offer an even wider range of activities and therapies for clients enrolled in our Journey Back to Awesome (JBA) programme. We are so very grateful that we have been gifted this unique property in Waitoki by a very generous donor specifically for these purposes.
“It has always been our vision and dream to expand our facilities and create a beautiful healing centre for our young people,” says Tina Jones.
Called Duke House, the Waitoki property where the retreat will operate was purchased by businessman Rod Duke who had met with Youth in Transition and was overwhelmed by the incredible work they do.
“We are so delighted to have Rod Duke’s support. With this incredible donation we are building upon the generosity of current and previous supporters,” says Tina.
This is a very exciting development for us at Youth in Transition and provides us with the opportunity to help even more young people in so many ways. If you would like to commit to any of our annual management and running costs you can become a friend of the property and will be an extremely valued part of providing quality of life to a young person.
