Scoring big at the Golf Fore Life charity golf tournament
Youth in Transition held its annual golf tournament on the 23rd February and once again it was a fantastic day for all. $75,000 was raised for the charity’s programme, Journey Back to Awesome.
“The amount we raised was absolutely phenomenal and so needed with the number of kids reaching out for help. It was such a positive day bringing energy and warmth to our charity,” says Tina Jones MNZM, YIT Director and Co-Founder.
The day was enjoyed by over 120 players at the stunning Gulf Harbour Country Club on the Whanagaparaoa Peninsula. There were prizes for players, for beating the Pro, closest to the pin, the longest drive, and auction items. With perfect weather it was a day of banter and friendly competition amongst the players, some of whom described it as an “unforgettable day”.
Representatives from Youth in Transition also addressed the friendly crowd, who were moved by the incredible difference YIT has made to their lives.
“We are so fortunate to have our amazing sponsors, both for this event and those who have offered their continuous support. We simply could not exist without the help of the likes of Ross Munro, Gary Lane, Rod Duke, Bill Speedy, John and Daniel Green,” says Tina Jones.
With the annual golf tournament now complete, the charity looks forward to officially opening its newly established retreat in Wainui, called Duke House, later in the year.
