September’s Rescheduled Working Bee

Thank you to all the team!

We had a wonderful turnout at our rescheduled September working bee, with even more new volunteers joining us. After a hearty breakfast, the team took on an amazing variety of jobs — from extending our sensory garden, improving the chicken coop enclosure, and giving our outdoor bathroom a deep clean, to weed-eating, tree surgery, and indoor painting.

All of this hard work helps us keep Duke House the serene and tranquil retreat we want it to be — a safe, welcoming space for our young people to heal and find hope.

A massive thank you to both the awesome Woolworths New Zealand Silverdale for providing a fresh, nourishing breakfast to start the day, and to Bunnings Warehouse New Zealand Silverdale for supplying materials to enhance the entrance to our sensory garden.

We are so grateful to be surrounded by such a caring and generous community.
